Grey clouds in the sky
Mellow morning comes so soon
Nature green, flowers bright
Trees dancing to a tune
Sea roars, river flows
Birds flap their wings with joy
Frogs sing their own tune
The song of lightning in the sky
The sun sleeps in the morning too
Nature green never sleeps again
With the very first drop of dew
I say, 'Here comes the rain!'
The Story Behind
This poem does not describe the rain. Nor does it describe the rainy season or the atmosphere in the rains. Just prior to the rainy season, there is a gentle and sudden change in the atmosphere. After the scorching heat of summer, this comes as a huge relief.
Grey clouds appear more often in the sky. The nature looks greener. The thunder is heard more often. Frogs start croaking their song and even that sounds sweet. A few light showers set just the right atmosphere before the rainy season.
