To God

This is a great catastrophe.
That was an ebullient ecstasy.
Both are ghosts on the stage
In a great play called as life.
Seldom you forget your lines
Or get thrown off backstage.
The ghosts play their part well.
You stumble like blind chasers.
The ghosts run deep down you.
For they are only a part of you.
And you have to play your part.
Call it your best performance.
There in lies a total submission
To the one who holds the strings.
To you I owe everything Bismillah.

The Story Behind

This allegorical poem talks about life. Not my life but infact it encompasses a summary of the life graph of every individual. Every person in this world is unique and different. But still all of us have to go through periods of sorrow. There is glee always followed by a series of unfortunate events. We are all actors and happiness and sorrow are illusions. That's because we try to materialise them.

But we forget that they come from within us. No particular thing can make you happy or sad. That thing is just a reason for that happiness or sorrow to come out of you.

That's why I call them ghosts. They play a balancing act on the stage along with us. We have to adjust with them and understand that they are friendly and too close to us to run after them. That's because they are within, not outside in any goal or any material thing. If we understand this, it will enhance our performance in this play called life.

Finally my acknowledgements to the director of this play. The lone holder of the strings. The concept of this play, the stage and we as mere puppets dancing on those assured strings are a result of his conceptualisation and vision. My grief, my happiness, my possesions, my success, my failure my love and my life and the life of all others. God alone is the lone creator of this massive play.

Why do we even have to worry? I feel a great assurance in a fact that He will take care of us. I just have to do what my heart tells me. He will show me the right way. He maintains a beautiful equilibrium of the play by masking the ghosts of happiness and sorrow equally. That's why the play looks so lively. We never forget the credibility of the director.

This poem basically tells you to submit and trust in your God fully. The God may be any, but your belief should be 100%. Trust in him and he will take care of you. Submit your ego at his feet for if you do that, you just have to walk on a path already laid down by Him. Fear not if evil befalls on you. Don't cry when it pains a lot but trust in him for He will take the hurt for you. The whole concept that we are mere followers of a one true commandment and that we are merely acting in this massive play of life directed by the Almighty made me write this poem.
